My name is Ashley & I'd love to work with your family. I'm a parent of 2 boys & I bring 25 plus years of professional & personal experience caring for children of all ages & developmental stages. I have extensive experience working w/ neurodivergent children, twins & preemies. I graduated from UCD, obtained my MA in Early EDU & worked in Peds as a CCLS for ~ 8 yrs. My philosophy in working w/ children is to provide a safe, fun, & positive learning envrmt using various modes of expression. I believe play is the language of children & I support the process over a product. I scaffold learning by encouraging children to try for themselves before doing it for them. I currently work as a substitute paraeducator, a substitute preschool teacherv& with 2 families on Care. I'm infant/child/adult CPR, AED & 1st Aid certified, I'm fully vaccinated, a non-smoker & I love animals. Also , I enjoy cleaning, organizing & helping around the house.

Ashley recently began working with our family on an occasional basis and she's been wonderful. We have a 3 and 6 year old, and our oldest is AuDHD (likely also PDA), so it was important for us to find a caregiver that understood the nuances of raising neurodivergent kiddos while also being kind, respectful, and compassionate, especially around challenging behavior. Ashley is all of these things! She brings her own experience as a parent of an ND kiddo, as well as her academic training and years working with young children. She is thoughtful, communicative, engaged, proactive. She brings fun and educational activities for the kids that they've really enjoyed and she finds ways to be supportive around my child's school work and tidying up around the house. She's also very reliable. I highly recommend!
