I have over 10 years of experience working as a Direct Support Professional and providing in-home care, respite care, and individualized support to children and adults with autism, intellectual disabilities, and developmental disabilities. My experience includes assisting with activities of daily living, implementing individualized support strategies, encouraging communication and independence, accommodating sensory needs, and supporting behavioral and developmental goals. I also provide assistance with household tasks, meal preparation, errands, and community activities. As a mother and full-time caregiver to my daughter, who has autism, I have gained additional firsthand experience understanding the unique needs, communication styles, sensory challenges, and developmental goals of autistic individuals.
