I am an experienced nanny based in the Heights. I've worked with children of various ages throughout the years in different capacities (camp counselor, guitar teacher, Sunday school teacher, cool aunt) and am the parent of an awesome 3-year-old. As a nanny I've worked with children in infancy, toddlerhood, middle childhood, and pre-teenhood. I have experience as an Assistant to the Lead at a local Montessori school in the Heights (primary ages 3-6) as well. My goal as a nanny is to care for your child as my own. I use Respectful Parenting techniques at home and love to foster imagination, creativity, and silliness. Open-ended play, crafts, and goofy voices are my strengths. We hired Ashley to help with care while my partner was away for a week, and we hope they will continue to work with us! Ashley was on time, helped tidy the house (which was amazing to come home to), and really put effort into doing one-on-one activities with my girls. My older daughter is very crafty, so Ashley brought her crafty things and they created cute bracelets together. They helped my girls work through frustrations and supported my youngest daughter whenever she needed to cool off. I think one of the things I loved the most was how Ashley used respectful and neutral language and stayed calm during tantrums so the girls could see that and come back down to earth (because sometimes kids have big emotions!). We absolutely love Ashley, and the girls are always asking when they will come back!
