About Ashby

Hello! My name is Ashby. I've worked with young children for over 15 years, primarily ages 18 months to 5 years, though I also have experience with infants and kids up to age 10. I'm trained in Conscious Discipline and influenced by the Reggio Emilia approach. I believe in treating children with respect, empathy, and consistency, and I use a play-based, child-led approach to support learning and independence. I set kind but clear boundaries and help children build confidence through gentle guidance. I have extensive experience working with children with autism (no formal training) and am CPR and First Aid certified. I currently teach full time in a small family day home but am looking for a change of pace-ideally working one-on-one or with a small group. I'm dependable, calm, and deeply committed to helping children thrive. I'd love to connect and see if we're a good fit!
