About Ashanti

I like caring for seniors because growing up, I watched my mom work as a live-in CNA for most of her life. Seeing the compassion, patience, and comfort she gave to others inspired me to follow a similar path in healthcare. It made me realize how important it is for seniors to feel respected, cared for, and supported during every stage of life. I earned my Personal Care Aid certification and have had the opportunity to work with seniors in an assisted living facility, where I learned how meaningful even the smallest acts of care can be. I have also worked at UVA in both inpatient and outpatient settings, which helped me grow even more as a caregiver and taught me how to connect with patients from all different backgrounds. Caring for seniors is something I truly enjoy because I love being able to make someone's day a little easier, provide comfort, and build genuine relationships with the people I care for.
