I find joy in helping others feel better. I am a skilled aide and come from a family of nurses and aides. I have been a caregiver for 6 years and a certified Aide for about 2 years. I am passionate about making sure the elderly and disabled are properly cared for. We need more kindness and patience in the world. I'd describe my personality as Calm, patient, honest, respectful but direct, and dependable. I'm looking for a job that fits for both myself and you( the client). I'd prefer to be working in a safe environment. I like to garden and refinish old furniture in my spare time. I like to take about an hour to meet with potential clients to learn their needs, likes and dislikes. I also use that time to answer any questions you may have for me and to discuss days and times. My skills include respite care, rehabilitation care, dementia (memory)care, hospice, wound care, showers, foly care, peri care, transfers, lifts, feeding, bed baths, companionship, medication administration.
We hired Aquivea ("Q") in early October 2025 for 20 hours a week caregiving for my mother who was on hospice at home. She immediately bonded with my mother (who had dementia) with her warm, quiet, and attentive personality. Less than two weeks later, we moved my mother to a local nursing home where she passed away in late December 2025. Even though our time with Q was brief, I cannot recommend her highly enough! She implemented a Daily Log for everyone to write notes in so that we were all on the same page about my mother's care. She cared for her physically (bed baths, hair care, body lotion, feeding, teeth brushing, brief changes, etc.) as well as spiritually. She prayed with and for my mother and I know that gave her great comfort. Q worked with my mother in the evenings and it gave me peace of mind to know she had someone to get her ready for bed and provide the support she needed when she might be sundowning. I gave Q five stars but would like to add a +++.
