I have been working as a teacher and nanny the last 20+ years of my career. I moved to the area a couple years ago to help care for my father with dementia in his final years. I have found that I have an aptitude for senior care. I thoroughly enjoy talking with older persons and hearing about their lives and experiences. I seem to naturally understand that caring for them requires extreme patience and understanding. The need to shift or distract during moments of frustration and fear is very important. I am good at it, and I'm a great listener and caregiver. I love to read aloud (teacher in me) and go for walks. I will be available on Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays starting in August of this year.
