Experience: 10 yrs
Nurturing young minds is truly a passion of mine. My decade of experience caring for children aged newborn to 11 years has solidified my commitment to fostering their growth and development. I am patient, creative, and friendly, and I strive to provide a safe and stimulating environment for every child in my care. I hold a college degree, along with First Aid Training and CPR Training. I also have experience with special needs children and Early Childhood Education (ECE) coursework. I enjoy playing board games and educational games. I am comfortable following your lead on household rules and communication preferences, providing updates via text or in person. I'm happy to help with cooking, light housekeeping, travel, and crafts. I'm comfortable caring for one child at a time. I love creating lasting memories with children and would be honored to care for your little one.
There is not enough time or space for me to adequately rave about how truly amazing Anya is, but I will give it a go. The basics: - extremely experienced (20+ years) and all of the families she has been with have been long-term positions. She was a live-in with one family. With each family, including ours, she has started when the first was an infant and stayed with families through second and even third babies. Other than my mum and MIL, she was the first person I texted when my second was born 🙂 - incredibly loving, kind, and caring. She truly treats my kids as if they are her own and they adore her. - fun and creative with the kids. She is very in-the-know with what is going on around the city and makes an effort to plan activities ahead for the kids. She takes my kids all over the city to museums, parks, and fun events. - safe, responsible, reliable. I have never once worried about my kids in her care. She is always on time (and frankly is usually early!) and has stayed late as needed. She has also babysat for us a few times. - she has helped us through establishing nap schedules, baby-led weaning, and basically guided us on potty training our eldest (very successfully I might add). I have learned loads from her and her wealth of experience. - I am not one to have a lot of specific requests for her, but in the times that we have had issues with sleeping or eating etc she has completely followed our lead and supported our strategies The above and beyond: - when people say they want a nanny that can be part of the family…it’s her. She went above and beyond when I was very ill during my second pregnancy, and even though we weren’t paying her to watch our newborn when I was home on maternity leave, in times of terrible sleeping, she stepped and helped out because she wanted to. - we went on vacation this summer for the first time and she came in the morning, helped us get ready for our flights, and packed us into the car. My youngest son ran through the streets of Rome with his ice cream shouting her name because he had things to show her lol. My eldest is in preschool now and on the days I pick him up he always has to confirm that she is at home with his brother because he doesn’t like her to leave without him giving her a hug and saying bye. - we went through my eldest having a speech delay, and she attended early intervention and speech therapy with us on a few sessions and continued those strategies when we were at work. - my youngest had feeding issues and torticollis and she again working with us to implement and be consistent with the therapist’s strategies - both my kids LOVE trains and sometimes she takes them on the T and they just ride around learning all the train lines. - they go to our local library all the time and a few months after we had moved to our new house (new town), we were in the library on the weekend and the children’s librarian came up to us to specifically tell us how wonderful our nanny was. And on that subject, when we moved, she took everything in stride to find local playgroups and get to know the nannies in the area. Honestly I could go on and on, but I’ll stop there. When we had the conversation about it being time to make a change, we both cried. I will miss her immensely and I want to make sure she finds a new family that will love and appreciate her for all she’s worth.
