About Antoniette

I have 15+ years of experience in tutoring students in elementary school through high school. My focus is on writing, reading, grammar, math instruction, special education with a focus on speech and language, and test prep. I also offer homework help, study skills, and development of critical thinking skills. Much of my tutoring focuses on important skills that are often overlooked or no longer taught in the public school system--critical thinking, grammar, spelling, free writing, and time-tested fundamental math skills necessary to form a foundation on which to build upon. I have worked for the New York City educational system for many years and have a background as a speech and language teacher. I can establish a positive rapport with my students and will assess student's level in reading, writing and math using tests, progress reports from teachers, and student homework. My tutoring will remediate lagging skills or accelerate a more challenging set of skills for the student.
