About Annie

We hired Annie to help my sister’s family and her newborn during a period when my sister had severe postpartum anxiety and was thus unable to fully care for her baby. Words can’t express just how amazing Annie has been both for my sister and her baby. In fact, the reason we hired Annie is that she has expertise and experience in mental health settings *and* in caring for newborns. Annie has been indispensable in helping my sister through a very difficult period. In addition to “regular” nanny responsibilities, she has offered emotional support and helped with setting up a daily routine and short-term goals. Moreover, she has served as my sister’s healthcare advocate, helping her navigate a frustrating HMO experience, and later, a hospital stay. She joined my sister during certain doctor’s visits, ensuring that she was able to get all her questions answered and that she had an appropriate care plan. Annie is knowledgeable about newborn development, and it shows. She assisted with a daily feeding/sleep schedule for the baby and works in a variety of playtime activities when she’s awake. When the baby is sleeping, Annie helps with light housework, laundry, and cooking. One day, she brought the most delicious homemade lasagna (her Italian husband’s family recipe)! I can’t say enough about how incredible our experience with Annie has been. We always knew it would be a temporary arrangement (until my sister recovered), but Annie is now part of the family, and we’ll surely keep in touch and call on her when needed!
