My name is Annelise, and I was born and raised in Puerto Rico. I earned my bachelor's degree from the University of Dayton and completed my teaching certification in Ohio. I worked with many struggling readers which led me to take many courses on the Science of Reading. I currently teach second grade in a private school and am excited to move into a homeschool or in-home setting, where I can fully invest in more personalized, student-centered learning. With six years of experience teaching and tutoring across multiple grade levels, I enjoy creating lessons that feel engaging, meaningful, and connected to real life rather than rushed or focused on memorization. I'm especially passionate about helping students develop critical thinking skills and discover how they learn best, at their own pace.
