I have been a RN for about 5 years now, before that I was an LPN, and before that I was a CNA for around 3 years. I have an absolute adoration for the elderly. Thought my years of experience, I have seen them at their worst times, cared for them intimately, and connected with them through the work I performed. I believe they deserve to be treated with care, respected, and seen. I unfortunately have seen at facilities I worked at what happens when someone doesn't take the rest they need from caring for others. They become disconnected from themselves, their work, and those they care for. I think this is due to not getting the assistance and help they need to take care of themselves before taking care of others. That's why I'm here.
