Annabelle came into our lives when our very colicky daughter had just turned 6 months. We often laugh now that her first day at our house was a trial by fire, because our daughter was NOT going to go easy on anyone at that point! Lucky for us, Annabelle wasn't scared off by our tiny fuss bucket. In fact, she rose to the challenge! It didn't take long for Annabelle to become like family to us. She was AMAZING with our daughter. The two of them constantly went out exploring the neighborhood, going on play dates, and generally having fun together. Since I work from home, it can be challenging to establish a good nanny-kid dynamic, but it was never ever an issue with Annabelle. (Probably because hanging out with her was more fun than spending time with boring old mom!) When I had my second baby, Annabelle cared for my daughter while I was in the hospital. I was nervous my daughter would be crabby or threatened by the new baby, but nope! She was just excited that she got to sleep over at her house! Saying goodbye to Annabelle was one of the hardest parts about leaving Portland. (Trust me, I tried to bribe her to move to Chicago multiple times. No dice).
