About Anna

Anna is incredibly patient, attentive, and compassionate with children. I have personally seen her care for children in our family with autism who have very different communication and support needs, including a child who is nonverbal. One of the things that impresses me most about Anna is her ability to get to know each child as an individual. She takes the time to learn their routines, behaviors, preferences, and unique ways of communicating. She pays close attention to nonverbal cues and is very good at recognizing when a child may be trying to express a need, feeling overwhelmed, becoming frustrated, or simply needing a different approach. Anna understands that every child with autism is different, and she doesn’t expect one approach to work for everyone. She is patient when a child needs additional time to process instructions or communicate what they need, and she is willing to adjust activities, expectations, and communication to meet the child where they are. She also has a wonderful ability to remain calm and make the best of challenging or unexpected situations. Rather than becoming frustrated, she works to understand what the child may be communicating through their behavior and finds a way to help them feel comfortable, safe, and understood. Beyond her experience with children who have additional support needs, Anna is nurturing, responsible, playful, and genuinely enjoys spending time with children. She makes an effort to create an environment where they can have fun, learn, and be themselves while still providing appropriate structure and supervision. I would feel completely comfortable trusting Anna with a child in my care. She has a natural ability to connect with children, and her patience, adaptability, and attention to their individual needs are qualities that truly set her apart.
