Hello! I have done caretaking for my grandma through IHSS for over 3 years now. There is so much wisdom to gain from seniors who have lived longer than I have, and I love being able to feel like I can help them in any way that I can. I strive to be an optimistic person and I enjoy being the reason people smile. To quote the well known Emily D*ckinson; If I can stop one heart from breaking, I shall not live in vain; If I can ease one life the aching, or cool one pain, Or help one fainting robin Unto his nest again, I shall not live in vain. I try my hardest to live my life by that poem, and I know that my youth and strength can be put to good use taking care of someone. I started caring for seniors at a young age when I started being more active in my religious community. I would volunteer my time to take care of odds and ends around people's houses, and I would offer my car to transport people in my religious community as well.
