About Anika

I have 22 years of experience as a mom; 4 years as a former substitute teacher; 14 years as a church nursery director/caregiver. In addition, countless years as team mom and room mom. I'm a degreed engineer who, prior to becoming a SAHM, worked for companies including Pepsi, Gatorade and 3M. My hobbies include endurance sports, reading and traveling. I also enjoy storytelling and fixing/building/installing things. I may or may not have a slight Disney obsession! I'm a recent empty-nester who enjoys caring for young people and the elderly alike. I am dependable, organized and firm, but loving. I embrace a child-led philosophy, whether we are playing or learning. I also use gentle redirection as correction. I incorporate learning with playtime whenever possible. I love especially teaching about the world through science. I'm old-school and prefer interaction over screen time.
