I had the opportunity to meet Angel in person to determine whether she would be a good fit for caring for my child. During our meeting, I found that she was not as communicative or engaging as I had expected when meeting a new family. While it's possible she was simply nervous, it also left me uncertain about her level of interest in the position. Angel shared that she has six years of experience working with children. During our conversation, I specifically asked whether she was genuinely interested in the position, and she assured me that she was. I also asked about her reliability and whether she anticipated any scheduling conflicts or circumstances that might affect her ability to show up consistently. She stated that she was very reliable and that she did not like leaving people "in the dark." Based on our conversation, I sent her a text message letting her know that we would like to move forward with hiring her. Unfortunately, I never received a response. While I understand that people may change their minds or decide not to accept a position, I believe a simple message communicating that decision would have been respectful and professional. The lack of any response after emphasizing her reliability and communication is the reason I am leaving this review.
