I validate their feelings and first will try to explain a situation, give choices as of what could be done or choices on how I can make them feel better. Debriefing after a challenging behavior and provide reassurance and checking in on how they are feeling. Depending on the age I also would provide cuddles or whatever soothes them. I take a nurturing approach into my care for children. I enjoy arts and crafts, playing outside, engaging in pretend play, puzzles, building using blocks, magnets, or other building tools. Teach theming them life skills through play and also allowing them to help me with chores to allow them to explore skills and learn. Singing, having dance parties, doing projects and just providing plenty of learning opportunities.
