About Andrea

For 11+ years, I have specialized in individualized instruction for learners with diverse and complex learning needs. My background in specially designed instruction and differentiation allows me to look beyond what a learner is struggling with to understand why, and adapt instruction accordingly. I genuinely enjoy getting to know the person behind the learner; their strengths, interests, frustrations, and how they experience learning. I have extensive experience supporting autistic and neurodivergent learners in academics, executive functioning, communication, independence, and self-advocacy. I believe meaningful learning begins with relationships, trust, and understanding that difficulty learning something one way does not mean a learner is incapable of learning it. Some of my most meaningful moments as an educator have been watching learners rediscover confidence in their abilities. Sometimes we need to stop asking learners to learn our way and become willing to teach in theirs.
