About Andrea

Hi! I have 9+ years experience in education. I am now taking a break from teaching in public school to home school my two girls who are 3 & 5. I would love to care for up to 2 more children in my home. We would love to have friends to join in with us as we do our school activities in reading, writing, math, pretend play, music, art, science, & Spanish. We will be using a combination of curriculum this year for our core. In addition to our core, we are going to have structured play times such as centers and weekly pretend play theme times. I am very energetic, organized, structured, patient & nurturing. We have plenty of play times to encourage development of gross motor skills, fine motor skills, and social skills. I encourage lots of outdoor playtime and we play lots of games to get out that extra energy. I feel very comfortable caring for children with special needs. I taught special education for 6 years. I taught in classrooms for children with Autism and for children with a wide range of behavioral issues. My undergrad degree is in behavior and my discipline style is very heavy on positive reinforcement.
