We had the good fortune to have Ana here at our home for four months. My wife had advanced dementia and Ana cared for her for four plus hours per day, seven days per week, until her death. The time she was here gave me the opportunity to have some time to myself and the time to do errands. She happily extended her hours when we needed her to if we had an unforeseen circumstance. She became indispensable. Ana is not only experienced and capable, but she is caring and compassionate . She became more than a caregiver. She became a friend to me, my wife, and our family. She worked extremely well with our hospice nurses and CNA's. Using her experience, knowledge, and compassion, she showed me how to do things I didn't know how to do and improved the level of care we could give my wife. She didn't need to be asked to do things; she saw what needed to be done and did them. Even though my wife has since passed away, we miss seeing Ana.
