We hired her to nanny, but unfortunately the experience was disappointing. She was to work one to two days at a very high rate, then quit, saying that light household help like tidying dishes was “something a house manager does,” even though she initially said she was comfortable with it. She also mentioned wanting to use nap times to do her personal homework instead of helping with simple household tasks like the dishes or folding his laundry. Additionally, she expected five paid sick days per year despite working LESS than part-time hours. This was shocking. While polite and punctual, her priorities and expectations didn’t align with what most hardworking families would reasonably expect from a reliable and engaged caregiver. I’m sharing this to help other parents save time and effort.
