About Amy

Caretaking began at the early age of 6 when a neighbor came over to ask my mom to watch her 3-year-old son and I dutifully declared, "I'll babysit him!" She agreed and I took my job of snacks, stories, and silly dances VERY seriously. More than 3 decades later - I'm hoping to find a place where I can be of help again. I like working with kids because they are exploring the same world I'm in - but with a brand new, unique point of view. They have an excitement for life. I started working with kids when I was a kid myself; actually getting paid around as a mom's helper when I was 10 years old! I continued taking jobs caring for younger children through highschool and worked at a childcare center for 4 years while in college earning my elementary education degree. One thing you should know about me is I'm a terrible dancer but I love it and spontaneous dance parties are always encouraged. My skills include a variety of voices for read alouds, de-escalation, and consistency.
