About Amy

As a former occupational therapy assistant, my heart lies in helping my elders continue their familiar routines in their homes with their safety being the number one priority. My experience lies in skilled nursing facilities as an occupational therapy assistant with specialized dementia care training using Positive Approach to Care. In home caregiving experience includes meal preparation, assisting in toileting, showering, and self care. I have firsthand experience with dementia care in my family. I provided hospice caregiving for family members and consider that time to be a tremendous honor. I adore spending time with my elders because of their sense of humor, their perspective and their wisdom. I love learning what music was their favorite when they were young, pulling it up on my phone and watching them light up as sweet memories are revisited. In my spare time, I like to garden, bake from scratch, cook, crochet and tend to my pet ducks, cats and dogs.
