About Amy

Hi! My name is Amy. I am a certified New York State Social Studies teacher who is looking to work full-time in child care while I continue my education by pursuing a master's degree in education. I have several years of experience babysitting children between the ages of 2 and 10 and am the aunt of two spunky 4-year-old twins! As a former full-time high school teacher, I am energetic, fun, and confident when it comes to dealing with kids. I like to uphold a sense of respect between myself and the children I care for but realize that kids will make mistakes and believe it is my responsibility to handle these moments with patience and understanding. I am comfortable assisting children in any school-related situations as well as performing additional tasks if requested (ex: meal preparation, caring for a pet). I believe that safety and reliability are extremely important in childcare and I am willing to follow any specific directions provided by parents.
