While I was a nanny, the grandmother moved in with the family. I cared for her for 2 years. She suffered from dementia. My responsibilities included waking her up in the morning, bathing her, dressing her, feeding her, taking her to appointments, and keeping her company during the day. I also volunteered for a hospice for 2 years. I would keep the patients company and feed them during mealtimes. I recently finished a 20 month position providing companion care for a woman in her 50s with Alzheimer's. I assisted with bathing her, dressing her, feeding her, giving medication, and transporting to The Summit. I also stayed with her overnight when the family was traveling out of town. I'm currently looking for a position starting this summer. I can provided excellent references from both employers.
