About Amy Joy

I'd describe my personality as creative and encouraging. I enjoy tutoring, because the world is exciting to me, and I want to share that with others. In the core of my being, I am a nurturer and a caregiver. Yes, I'm intelligent and diligent and hard-working, but my primary goal is to build in children an appreciation for how cool the world is. I have six younger brothers and sisters and a household of my own children. Teaching and guiding is what I do naturally. My top tutoring skill is that I'm a patient and good communicator. I'm a degreed scientist with experience as a chemist and paleontologist, but I also have written books for a living. My job is to know things, but my particular skill is taking the things I know and putting them into simple terms and helping people feel their own intelligence by the end.
