I would categorize myself as a fun grandma. I believe in structure but with levity and fun. I am reliable, it is imperative that kids have consistency and people they can rely on. I am still close to families I cared for over 15 years ago. I am a young widower and live with my son, his wife and grandkids 6, 4, and 7 months. So I am used to noise, patience, and the ability to multi task. I love to get kids outside to play, so when they come inside they are worn out. I am a safety freak, especially when parents are away. I don't want any accidents on my watch. My level of communication is age appropriate. I am not a no, because I said so person. I explain the why, to encourage them to think for themselves and have confidence that my guidance is from care not control. I find purpose in helping families now that my kids are adults. I provide care because I enjoy it and it's gratifying. Communication is a must, I follow your rules without judgement and respect your privacy.
