About Amy

Unlocking a student's unique potential is at the heart of my approach. With three years of tutoring experience and 5 years of being a home educator; I focus on building confidence and fostering a genuine love for learning along with simple memorization when necessary. By actively observing how your student interacts with new and old material, I will then adapt my methods using visual aids, hands-on activities, or discussions to suit their needs. When concepts feel challenging, I will break them down into manageable steps and celebrate small successes. My prioritity is to have open communication with you (and your student) to ensure we remain in a team- we are in this together. Whether we are working on Math, English, Science, History or study skills, my goal is to help your student develop the critical thinking skills, through Socratic discussion, for long-term success. Nothing brings me more joy than witnessing that "aha!" moment when a student finally masters a difficult concept.
