About Amiyah

Although I don't have much paid experience I spent many years from youth-adulthood taking care of my grandmother. Doing the normal tasks of course such as bathing, meal preparation, assistance dressing, transportation to and from appointments, running errands and post toileting assistance. Aside from that I also made sure to make her smile. We would watch shows like Dancing with the Stars, morning talk shows, game shows and anything Disney. I would do her hair and nails so she could feel pretty, and we would often color together. Often times we would be in each other's presence while engaging in our own activities but it gave us both a sense of comfort knowing that someone else was there. It didn't take me long to realize I found joy in care giving; and I hope to bring that same sense of comfort and companionship to someone else's life.
