About Amelia

I like working with kids because I love how the excitement they find in small, everyday things helps me stay present and savor life's small joys. I especially enjoy knowing that the work I do has a real impact on another person's life. When you find a moment of connection with a kid, it's a feeling that sticks with you. I'm looking for a job that allows me to get to know some awesome new kids! I love babysitting because it allows me to really get to know kids individually, and to do things with them that they are interested in. It is also important to me to be able to maintain clear boundaries and to give guidance when necessary. I started working with kids when I was 12, as a volunteer ESL tutor for refugee children. Since then I have a worked as a babysitter, camp counselor, daycare assistant, and au pair. I have worked with children from infants to teenagers. Currently I am a preschool aftercare instructor. In my spare time, I enjoy nature, music, and reading.
