About Amber

I have a 12-year-old daughter and a 3-month-old son, they are my everything. I have been volunteering at Head Start since I was about 12. I have worked as a classroom assistant, paraprofessional and as a lead teacher for many different age groups (mostly infants and toddlers but have also worked in a K-8 school) as well as nannied for an infant. I have an Associates degree in Child Development, an Advanced Certification in First Aid/CPR, a technical certificate in Outdoor Leadership and 300+ hour certification in teaching yoga. My child care philosophy has it's roots in Reggio Emilia and Montessori Education. This means that I value nature and design activities and curriculum in a way that follows the child's lead. I am certified in Yoga and Mindfulness for Children and am well versed in the ways of healthy social emotional development. I am educated and passionate about breastfeeding and other forms of infant nutrition, sleep patterns, sign language/communication etc.
