About Amber

I'd describe my personality as patient, introverted, and growth-oriented. I like tutoring because I can help students gain the confidence they need to be successful in achieving their goals. I'm looking for a job that will allow me to help students achieve their goals by improving their literacy skills. I have been a certified teacher for 23 years. I have a reading specialist certification and an Ed. S. In reading instruction. I currently teach high school ESL. In the past I have tutored students learning English, taught private music lessons, and tutored adults in reading (several wanting to pass the citizenship exam). In my spare time, I like to craft, run, kayak, and read. One thing you should know about me is I am highly motivated to provide the most help I can to motivated students of all ages. My skills include individualizing lessons to address student need and personal interests, patience to the extreme, and knowledge about the reading needs of learners of all ages.
