I am a San Francisco native and I have 4 younger siblings as well as my own 6year-old son. 

I have a bachelors degree in English literature from UCSD and am currently taking classes to get my early childhood teaching certificate.

Amaya was so wonderful, our kids took to her right away. She kept us posted with updates that made us feel at ease. 

Amaya is wonderful! We were in San Diego for a wedding, and she watched our two kids (ages 1 and 3) throughout the weekend. They often struggle when I leave them, but they warmed right up to her and had a great time. I definitely recommend hiring her.

This was my first time using care.Com, my anxiety was high but I must say I got lucky matching with Amaya. She was punctual and respectful of our home. My daughter took to her very well which is great because she usually doesn't like strangers. She helped with washing a few bottles without me asking, noticing I was a little frantic. I appreciated Amaya's full attention to my daughter's care and sending updates on how she was doing while we were out and her overall calm and personal-able good Aura alleviated my anxiety. Amaya has been our nanny for almost 1 year now, and we LOVE her! She always comes on time, never has been late once. She gives my son 100% of her attention, never on her phone, and helps in any way possible with parenting tips (which I also love!). She is so kind, patient, and understanding. She is always learning and studying ways to help encourage milestone growth and challenge his curiosity to learn. She goes on a walk with my son every time she is here, plays with him the entire time, and listens to his needs. I really appreciate the attention he gets and the help she has given me over the last year. My son absolutely adores her. He jumps and screams with excitement every time she come over. She is his best friend. It couldn't be a better fit.

I've never had a babysitter for my two babies (I have 2 under 2) until I met Amaya. I can depend on her to be on time and to be flexible. I can also be reassured that my babies will be taken care of by someone who really cares. My son instantly felt comfortable with her and it usually takes him a bit to warm up to someone new. Our family is very to grateful to have Amaya as a part of our village. She is very patient and observant, which has been essential for our toddler's adjustment to sharing the morning with someone new. Amaya is also full of creative ways to make the time with our little one very enriching. Some of the sweet memories they've made so far include numerous cooking projects, playground adventures, and a trip to the Natural History Museum. We are always looking forward to what the new week will bring as Amaya and our little one strengthen their special friendship.

Amaya was wonderful with our two-and-a half-year-old daughter! I'm a nervous mother and had never left my daughter alone with anyone other than family prior to Amaya, but our circumstances required a sitter. I could not be happier with her! She was extremely punctual, attentive, and caring. I asked her to come over one day prior to being alone with our daughter, so she could get acquainted with her in our presence. My daughter immediately took to her, and they began playing together. I felt so at ease because of her good rapport with our daughter. After our experience with Amaya, it's safe to say I feel she is a trustworthy, intelligent sitter that I would recommend with my eyes closed. Your child would not only be in good hands, but he or she will surely enjoy her presence as well!

We hired Amaya to watch our children at a hotel on our vacation so we could go out to dinner. We had absolutely no reservations leaving our kids with her. She was friendly, confident, warm - and obviously knew what she was doing. Would definitely hire her again.

Amaya did an amazing job babysitting our 2 year old daughter. She was so sweet and patient and our daughter loved playing with her and her son. She was also extremely punctual and a good communicator. I would most definitely hire Amaya again.

Amaya babysat for our 5 month old son when we were visiting San Diego on vacation. She was punctual - 10 minutes early actually! She was very calm with our baby and got him down to sleep no problem. She texted with updates which I very much appreciated. Would definitely hire again!
