Hi My name is Amani and I'm a DCC graduate with my associates in Human Services, I am currently continuing my education with a major in psychology almost at the end of my degree. I am an honors student who can excel and adapt to any challenge thrown at me. I am offering child care, pet care, and household services. I worked at a day camp where I facilitated daytime activities, as well as extracurriculars and overnight trips. I worked with 16 kids at a time aged 5-13. I also worked as a teachers aid for older kids (16-17) who had intellectual and physical disabilities. I facilitated and encouraged all teaching activities, as well as helped with developing life skills. I worked at a daycare caring for up to 12 children aged 6 weeks to 18 months. Currently, I work with at-risk youth ages 13-17 with mental health challenges struggling with aggression, family troubles, and depression.

Amani has cared for my son on numerous occasions, and I couldn’t imagine a better caregiver for him. My son is nonverbal and autistic, with a number of behavioral and developmental challenges, so finding someone I trust to care for him is not easy. My son is extremely attached to his iPad and Amani patiently works with him to put it down for long stretches of time and discover other ways to engage and have fun (such as water play in the backyard and doing activity books together). She instinctively knows when to give him space and when to gently coax him out of his shell. Amani has also taken the time to learn how to use my son's AAC device so she can communicate with him. Amani quickly became someone my son trusted, which is a rare and meaningful accomplishment for him. She's compassionate, attentive, and creative. I feel incredibly fortunate to have found her and would recommend her without hesitation to any family, especially one caring for a child with special needs.
