Hi there! I'm Amanda, a retired massage therapist of 15-years; my practice was located in Monterey. I have 12+ years of childcare experience with ages 2mos - 15yo, including plenty of live-in experience taking care of my younger nephews.

My passion for caring for sweet littles began when I was 17yo; I was a live-in nanny for my nephew from the ages 6mos - 6yo. Best "job" ever! Since leaving my career as a MT, I've helped multiple friends/families with babysitting, as well as a part-time nanny position for two children under 5yo and keeping the household clean and tidy.

I've always adored working with infants and children. I'm a positive, energetic and nurturing person who's reliable and always on time. I'm currently in school to get my Pilates Certification, but my schedule is otherwise flexible. I'm also happy to help with laundry, light housekeeping, food prep/cooking and shopping/errands. Amanda did a fantastic job taking care of our 6mo old son while I visited the area for work. She took him for walks and handled feeding and naps with ease. He was all smiles at drop off and pick up.

Amanda really saved the day when we were in a pinch and looking for a great nanny to help with our little one. She was very dependable and did a great job looking after our infant and later toddler. Amanda was great at buildings skills with our child, from learning to walk to putting away books. 

Amanda watched my 7 month old child when I went back to work and she was wonderful! She arrived early, offered to stay late if needed, and came prepared to tidy the house if time allowed. She kept in touch during the day while I was gone. She is very calm and kind. We didn't get to work together more than a couple days but I am so grateful for the help, and I'm hoping we can have Amanda over again in the future! 

Amanda is phenomenal! She helped take care of my 9-month old daughter for a whole week while my husband was out of town. I was nervous because our little one was having a tough time with teething pain, constipation, and separation anxiety. Our daughter often refused to have anyone (including her grandparents) feed her, change her diaper, and put her down, but I really needed an extra pair of hands while my husband was out. So grateful we found Amanda! Her glowing reviews were spot on. She was confident, calm, and absolutely wonderful with our daughter. She quickly got up to speed on our routine and was an expert when it came to feeding our discerning daughter a bottle, changing her diaper, playing with her, making her a healthy meal, and putting her down for a nap. We were shocked to see how quickly our little girl took to Amanda – she truly has the magic touch. We were also impressed with her punctuality (was always early), dependability (immediately won our trust), flexibility (adapted her schedule to meet our needs), and independence (incredibly fast learner). Although we intended to only hire her for that week, we ended up liking her so much that we’ve decided to continue having her help out a couple times a week while we’re living in Monterey.

Amanda has been absolutely wonderful with our 5-month-old, who she takes care of twice a week while we are both working. Our baby loves her bright and cheerful presence and smiles and gets excited whenever she sees Amanda in the morning. Our baby has some reflux and digestion issues and can get fussy and clingy, but Amanda has been gentle and soothing with her and she always seems to know what to do. She has also been incredibly helpful at keeping the baby's things tidy, organized, and clean. It has been such a blessing to have Amanda care for our little one and we can't recommend her enough.

Amanda helped out our family once a week for 3 months with my 1 year old. She took great care of my daughter and was very reliable, organized, and really helpful! We will definitely be using her again!

We were recently visiting family in Pebble Beach and needed a babysitter for our 2 yr old and 6 week old, found Amanda and we immediately felt comfortable with her!! She did such a great job with our girls, and the dogs too! We will definitely hire her again next time we're in town.

This was our first ever experience getting a babysitter for our 11 month old daughter and it just happened to be on a business trip across the country. We were very nervous using someone we didn't know, but after interviewing Amanda we had some relief. The true sense of calmness was seeing the immediate reception of Amanda from our daughter. Which didn't even happen with family members most of the time. 

Amanda mentioned prior that she had been known as the baby whisperer, and I totally watched it.

Amanda was always keeping us updated and sent pictures which again made it easy for us.

Amanda watched our 3 children while we were staying in the area for vacation. She was very professional, punctual and great with communication. My girls had a great time.

Amanda watched our newborn for 8 hours. She is great with babies. We have a colicky baby and she was able to calm her down naturally with her positivity and patience. We would definitely hire her again on a date night!

Amanda was our family's nanny throughout much of the pandemic and became a member of our family because she was so great with our kids (2.5 and 4.5 y/o boy and girl, respectively). She was prepared and with a positive attitude to greet each day with our kids; I have significant health issues and Amanda worked for us to help assist while I had to get to medical appointments. In addition to caring for our children in a safe, positive, and education-play-based manner, she also helped with some light housework and I can honestly say she's the cleanest person I've known - she kept our house clean and our kids clean, safe, and healthy during turbulent times. Now that my kids are in preschool and T-K, we no longer need Amanda's help regularly, although we do look forward to using her again for the occasional date night, so I'd love for her to get a position with a great family!
