My experience caring for those with special needs has been in the long term care facility and rehabilitation settings. I am a certified nurses aide with 7 years of experience and I'm CPR certified. I've had special needs clients consistently over the last few years. They really have been some of my favorite patients because of how mentally and physically delicate they can be. The special needs clients I've cared for range from mild mannered/mild tempered to difficult personalities and violent behavior, but I loved them all the same. In dealing with those who have special needs, you really have to be able to leave your hang ups, personal problems and attitude outside the door. It's not for everyone, but I can confidently say that my kind heart and passion for helping those who need it really stands out.
