Amanda has been a true gift and blessing to my family!  She began watching my daughter at 4 months old, 1-2 (full days) per week.  My daughter is now 20 months old and absolutely loves her days with Amanda.  Both my daughter and I have learned so much from her!  She's extremely knowledgeable, both with infant and toddler care.  She's attentive and has a very gentle, kind disposition while still firmly setting boundaries and rules to follow.  She finds a good balance between reading/arts and park/play and has helped through sleep regressions and more.  I would highly recommend Amanda for any nanny/childcare services.  We are truly sad to see Amanda move away!  We feel very privileged to have had her in our lives during my daughter's infant/toddler stage.

This was my first time using Care.com and Amanda made the experience wonderful. I needed someone to watch my 3 kids (13, 10, & 6 yo) while I attended a wedding at the coast. When I messaged Amanda, she contacted me right away and spoke to me on the phone. She was very professional. She arrived at our hotel right on time (I had originally told her an hour later, but they day before asked her to arrive an hour early...and she did!) I immediately felt comfortable with Amanda's calm and confident demeanor. She took my kids swimming, ordered them pizza and they had a blast. She also stayed later than what I had originally asked. My son has ADHD and is very active, so I rarely leave him with anyone other than family. He was actually disappointed when I came home because he wanted Amanda to stay longer!! I would absolutely recommend Amanda and I plan on using her services again when we go on vacation to the coast.


Amanda is amazing! I have had a very difficult time leaving my one year old son home at night. He sleeps with us and has a hard time when we are not there. Amanda has been the first caregiver to be able to get him to sleep and I have actually been able to enjoy a few nights out because of this. I can relax because I know he is in great hands. She is professional and accommodating and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for care... especially for infants and toddlers! Thank you Amanda! :)

Amanda helped me out by picking up my daughter from her daycare when I had to work late. She is kind and dependable. My daughter took an instant liking to her which made me feel more at ease. I would definitely hire her again if she was available.

Amanda put us at ease. As first time parents, we felt very comfortable leaving our 3 month old with her. She even sent pictures throughout the evening to make me feel better! 

We were headed to San Diego for a family wedding, but on Thursday, we figured out that we needed someone to watch the kids (boys, 4 1/2 and 22 months) during the wedding on Sunday. I liked Amanda's profile and reviews and I was not disappointed, absolutely thrilled with her, is a much better way to describe our experience with Amanda. She was very communicative via email and text, so it was easy to coordinate with her. On Thursday, she agreed to help us out with the wedding on Sunday. My kids are used to babysitters, but they have only had experience with people they know, so I was worried about how my 4 1/2 year old would react. I let Amanda know that I was a little apprehensive, and she had some wonderful solutions. On Saturday, Amanda stopped by for 20 minutes just to meet us and the kids. Then immediately prior to her arrival on Sunday, we gave the boys new toys (at Amanda's suggestion) and told them that Amanda was the only one that could open them. It worked like a charm, the boys didn't even want to say goodbye and there was no panic when they realized we had left. It went so well that night, Amanda agreed to come back Monday and watch the boys plus my two nieces (5 and 2). That night, my 5 year-old niece even told Amanda that she "was a good babysitter" - the kids ate a great dinner, played outside and were ready for bed when we got home, just like we asked. The next day, I told my oldest son that we wouldn't see Amanda any more that week (assuming that would comfort him that we weren't going out any more), but he looked at me and said "but I want Amanda to come back." And I tell you, if we could have worked it into our schedule, I sure would have had Amanda come back again so the adults could go out. If you need a wonderful, genuine, warm, energetic and truly caring person to watch your kids, you have found her. I will keep Amanda's number in my phone to use the next time we are in San Diego (and we will be back!) and to give to my friends that head there to visit. Look no further, you have found the sitter that you're looking for.

If I could give Amanda more stars I would. She was such a help to us on our vacation in San Diego. She is an extremely competent, professional, likable, confident, all-around awesome caregiver. I highly highly recommend her for excellent care whether you live in SD or are visiting.

I am hesitant to write this review only in so far that I don't want to reveal what an outstanding sitter Amanda is so we have to share her!
Amanda is responsible, detail-oriented and thoughtful. She is also supremely knowledgeable in all things baby thanks to years of experience. My son lights up when he sees her, and I honestly can't imagine my week without her!

Amanda is the best! She babysat for my 7-week old last night to allow us to have our very first date night. I am a first time mom, so I was nervous about leaving, but Amanda was wonderful. She texted updates to make me feel better. When we got home, our daughter was soundly sleeping. We will definitely be contacting Amanda again!

Our kids really enjoyed having Amanda look after them. They want her back ASAP!

We contacted Amanda immediately after reading her reviews on Care.com. After a meet and greet we were very impressed and she has been watching our 6-month-old baby girl on a regular basis ever since.  She is stellar.  It is great to watch the way the interacts with our girl; you can tell that they really care for one another. Amanda is up to date on all the current recommendations for child care and safety and has even taken classes! She is always on time and incredibly reliable.  My husband and I are very busy at work and not only does she make our lives easier by providing the highest quality child care, she also cleans up around the house if she gets the chance while baby is sleeping! So amazing! Every family with children should have an Amanda.

Our family was visiting San Diego for a family gathering over the weekend and Amanda helped us with our youngest daughter. She was on-time, reliable and very professional, not to mention great with our daughter. She stayed at our hotel and took our daughter out for walks on the hotel grounds and to the bay. She sent us updates during the evenings and a few photos both nights. I wish Amanda lived in Seattle!

Amanda is a fantastic sitter! She is punctual, well-spoken and has a kind, loving and friendly personality! She played games and entertained my 4 year old son the entire time she stayed with him. Our son absolutely loved her. We highly recommend Amanda and are so happy we found her.

Amanda was just wonderful with my 10 month old son. It was the first time I'd left him in someone else's care, and it was so lovely to see how quickly he took to her. Amanda's friendly and caring nature really shines through and I would recommend her without hesitation! So glad we found you Amanda, come back soon! 

We absolutely loved Amanda! She cared for our children while my husband and I went on a date. It was the first time I've left my youngest (almost 2) with a sitter at bedtime. I really did not expect for him to be asleep still when we got home just before midnight. Amanda had pushed/rocked him to sleep in the stroller and sat still on the couch with the stroller reclined for 45 minutes so he would sleep peacefully. She's a gem. Even my neighbors were commenting the following day about how the kids seemed to be having a great time when she played with them in the yard. I paid her more than she asked for because I was so impressed. My three year old daughter was disappointed that Amanda wasn't still here when she woke up in the morning. :)

My husband and I are very fortunate to have found Amanda! This is our first experience with outside help and we couldn't have asked for a better and more reliable sitter. She has taken care of our two year old son on several occasions now. He loves her, and it really shows! He seems really happy to see her. Amanda is extremely professional, dedicated, positive, and fun. We recently attended a wedding and needed her to take care of our son for about seven and a half hours and it couldn't have gone better! She even made him dinner, gave him a bath, read to him, and put him to bed, no problems at all. We always feel very comfortable and secure whenever she's with our little guy.

We are truly lucky to have Amanda currently take care of our 2 year-old son. She takes care of him on a regular basis three days a week for a few hours while I work and some other times as well when needed. Amanda is the most consistent, dedicated, proactive, intelligent and kind caretaker you can hope for. I really don't know how I could ever have anyone else take care of our little one the way she does.
