About Amanda

I started working with children in my early teens, babysitting for many families and providing full-time care during summers. As a mother and former foster parent, I have extensive hands-on experience with children of all ages. I fostered 18 children over 7 years and adopted 3, giving me a deep understanding of different personalities, needs, and routines. I am a retired law enforcement officer with 21 years of service, so safety is always my top priority. I remain calm under pressure and am confident handling emergencies. While I am not currently CPR certified, I was certified for over 20 years and spent 5 years as an American Red Cross CPR & First Aid instructor. I enjoy spending time outdoors and believe in keeping kids active and engaged. I love hands-on activities, games, parks, zoos, and creative play, while limiting screen time. I homeschooled two of my children for several years.
