About Amanda

I'm a passionate and experienced reading tutor with more than 22 years of teaching experience. I homeschooled my 4 children for a total of 18+ years and am tutoring reading over the summer. The program I use is phonics based. I teach classes in my home or online. Parents will be required to purchase all materials for their student. I prefer to work with ages 4-6 years old but also have experience helping teach children up to grade 9. I believe that everyone no matter what their background, race, religion, gender, etc. deserve to be treated with kindness and respect. I like tutoring because I believe if someone can read well they can do almost anything! In my spare time, I like to garden, read, explore, try new recipes, watch tv and gaming. My skills include being a good and thorough communicator. I have a calm and patient presence.
