For the past 5 years I have volunteered with our adaptive water ski program and have met some very awesome people! My background is in elementary education working with students of all backgrounds and needs. This program has expanded my knowledge of those with varying differences and the program has grown near and dear to my heart. Our participants having varying diagnosis and abilities; downs syndrome, autism, cognitive impairments, brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, amputees, stroke, etc. During this program I have been in the water with participants, helped with transfers to and from the water and most importantly had positive interactions with them. These experiences have helped me at school with students who may have similar diagnosis.
