About Amanda

For the past 25years, I've been a teacher on the east end of Long Island and it has been a fulfilling and rewarding experience. I hold a degree in Elementary Education as well as a graduate degree in Reading. I am a certified teacher, experienced with Individualized Education Programs (IEP) and student accommodation plans (504). My tutoring approach is centered around creating an engaging, supportive, and patient learning environment, where I tailor my teaching to each student's unique learning style using visual aids, hands-on activities, and helping them find joy in learning. I specialize in Reading, Writing and Phonics instruction for elementary school students. I believe communication is essential, and I provide regular updates to parents because parents are an integral part of a student's success with learning. I love seeing a student's confidence blossom as they master new skills, and I would be delighted to help your child on their learning journey.
