Hello, my name is Amanda! I started in the health field at 16 years old when I acquired my first job at Clover Manor. After graduating high school I started at John F Murphy Homes, working with individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities. I earned my CRMA, CPR, and first aid certifications. It was supposed to be a job just to get me by until finding another, but I fell in love with what I was doing. I ended up being there for 7 years. I only left because I relocated my residence to Bangor and was unable to transport that far on a regular basis. Once in Bangor I tried a few different things, but have since ended up at the Maine Veterans Home, which I love. I attended some nursing school last year, and am looking to finish. Which is why I'm here, the flexibility of creating my own schedule, and not doing 12 hour shifts will eventually assist me in reaching my goals. (:
