I am a mother of five grown-ups. I took care of my two grandchildren from birth until the age of 6 when I left the Philippines. Somehow, being far from them made it hard for me to think that I have no more little kids to take care of and obviously, I miss them. I have more than a year of paid babysitting in Alaska from late 2008 until early of 2010. My children are everywhere in USA (Alaska, Chicago, Hawaii, New Jersey ) so I visit them and luckily between these visits, I always get a part-time babysitting job. I just love babies so anywhere I go, I can' t stop looking for babies to take care of and I realized this is my life and passion so I decided to make this as a career and work full time. Amalia is an exceptional caregiver. She cared for our daughter for ~6 months and we felt like we'd won the lottery. Most important, she was extremely engaged. Amalia managed to balance safety, fun and 'education' throughout the arrangement. She was punctual, regularly took our daughter to play in the park outside and on other outings and was patient through the rough patches. Amalia has a wealth of experience as a parent and caregiver so she picked up on some things with our daughter before we did. She was comfortable with every situation which arose and was responsible when we had slightly different preferences than her previous approach. Overall Amalia has our unqualified endorsement. Consistent with that, she is still always our first call when we need a caregiver.
