About Alyssa

I started working with kids when I was 12! I began by babysitting, then when I was in high school, I started volunteering at different organizations that worked with kids, and then moved on to working in classroom settings (while still babysitting/nannying on the side). I have experience with special ed as well, the last 3 years I worked in a trauma-informed Counseling Enriched Program (CEP) at a high school where I worked with students who had a variety of diagnoses such as autism, ADHD/ADD, OCD, anxiety, schizophrenia, and more. I like working with kids because they have such a unique perspective on the world and I love getting to encourage their imagination! One of my favorite things to do with kids is what I call free art, where I bring a bunch of random supplies and let the kids create whatever they can think of :) In my spare time, I like to read, create art, go to the beach, and sing along to my music while driving!
