About Alyssa

Hello! I have helped in my church's nursery for years, volunteered at a 4th grade church camp, and was a middle school group leader. Additionally, I helped with Special Olympics for 4 years so I have experience working with children that are neurodivergent. I love to work with children and strive to be a good role model for them. I currently work at the YMCA doing before and after school care. I go to Seton Hill University and I am on the Track & Field team, so my days are pretty busy but my evenings/nights are usually open. I am also CPR and First Aid certified. I like working with kids because I, myself, am a big kid. I think abstractly and outside the box because of my ADHD. Having the ability to see things from a kid's point of view has made me a more well rounded person. Children constantly surprise and inspire me to become better! My skills include communication/understanding, ability to creatively compromise/problem solve, and shear passion for helping children learn and grow.
