About Alyssa

Hi, my name is Alyssa! I have over 10 years of childcare experience, starting with babysitting my sibling and cousins. Throughout my school years, I volunteered in a summer reading program that helped children learn to read. I babysat for multiple local families, including my teachers. I studied music therapy in college, where I worked with children ages 4-18 at various levels of development and ability. Since college, I have been working with children who have experienced trauma and display challenging behaviors, both in school and residential settings. For the past 2 summers, I have worked for an accredited daycare, working with infants through school-aged children. I am responsible and reliable. I treat all children with respect, patience, and compassion and am firm when necessary. No matter how much experience you have, children are not one-size-fits-all, which is why I work to understand and attend to each child's wants and needs.
