My name is Alyssa and I am former center based special education teacher for students with DCD, ASD, TBI and OHD. I have many years of experience and am comfortable with a wide variety of needs including; seizures, g-tubes, CP, MD, colostomy bags, ODD, ADHD, sensory processing disorders, significant mental health needs and more. Prior to becoming a teacher I was a lifeguard and swim instructor, nanny and assistant preschool teacher. I have worked with kids from newborn-teenagers as well as adults with disabilities. I enjoy being active outdoors, crafts, music and dance. I am passionate about helping kids reach their greatest potential, exploring their interests and integrating sensory exploration and curiosity into everyday experiences. Allie is the best caregiver there is, and we feel like we hit the jackpot finding her. She's energetic with a very sweet demeanor that's warm and friendly. She watched our 6 month old son for an entire month M-F during the work day and we will continue to use her as a babysitter. She's responsible, and has a playful spirit and we immediately knew she was a great fit. She sought out activities on her own for her and our son like neighborhood walks, baby yoga, library visits, shopping mall adventures, played toys and did developmental activities with him, water play in the backyard, coffee shop stops, and more. She fed our son comfortably, and is CPR certified and car seat trained which was a huge bonus, and also got to know his routine very quickly. She kept notes daily on his feeding, sleeping, activities and temperament, which helped us settle in for the evening after returning from work. She also had no problem with some light housework. She and our son really bonded and it was sweet to see them together. We never had any concerns leaving my son in her care, which is a parent's dream situation!
