Growing up with an autistic uncle and caring for him since I was a young age showed me a lot about working with those with disabilities and special needs. Throughout high school, I volunteered, and then interned, at a special needs school. I worked with autism, down syndrome, and aspergers; from ages 7-30. In college, I volunteered for Best Buddies. My four years with this organization showed me so much. As a future therapist, I love working with people, and believe those with disabilities are so wise, intelligent and capable.
