About Alyssa

My name is Alyssa, and I'm a warm, compassionate tutor and caregiver originally from Connecticut, now based in Upper Manhattan. With a calm and caring demeanor, I strive to strike the perfect balance between structure and silliness. Currently, I teach comedy writing to 3rd through 5th graders at Horace Mann Lower School and have also taught speech and debate at Ethical Culture Fieldstone. Before moving to NYC, I worked as a substitute teacher in Connecticut and as a private in-home tutor. When it comes to homework, I make it as painless and engaging as possible. As a trained actor and singer, I love storytelling, imaginative play, and spontaneous dance parties! I'm also an avid baker and enjoy teaching little ones how to make sweet treats (with parent approval, of course.)
